About & Contribute

A trusted meeting place for Africa’s hope

Where African creativity, spiritual wisdom, linguistic diversity and technological thought illuminate one another.

The vision

Who we are

Omnia Nova Africa is a multilingual website dedicated to discovering, interpreting and sharing the signs of hope emerging across Africa. It brings together cultural reflection, faith, language learning and responsible technological innovation to illuminate Africa’s contribution to humanity’s future.

It moves beyond Afro-pessimism through informed reflection and credible stories of renewal, acknowledging the continent’s challenges while giving sustained attention to the people, communities, ideas and initiatives creating possibilities for peace and integral human development.

Africans are authors of their own futures and contributors to the world’s intellectual, spiritual, cultural and technological life.
Five objectives
  • Publish thoughtful, well-grounded perspectives that shed new light on Africa
  • Encourage dialogue between African cultures, Christian faith and contemporary life
  • Promote African language learning as a practice of encounter and peace
  • Strengthen African participation in debates and decisions about artificial intelligence
  • Connect thinkers, educators, communities and innovators working for integral human development
Founding inspiration

Renewal and creativity

Ecce nova facio omnia.
“Behold, I make all things new.”
Revelation / Apocalypse 21:5 — the Latin wording is also cited in the Holy See’s Latin text of Laudato si’.
Ex Africa semper aliquid novi.
“Out of Africa, always something new.”
Traditional formulation associated with Pliny the Elder — an adaptation of a saying recorded in Natural History, VIII.42. See this philological study.
Editorial approach

Hope, with honesty and rigour

Hope is our organising perspective, accompanied by intellectual honesty and editorial rigour.

  • Articles distinguish reporting, opinion, theological reflection and educational material
  • Sources are acknowledged and corrections made transparently
  • Contributors are credited
  • AI-assisted material receives human review, with disclosure where its use materially affects the content
Our voices

African contributors at the centre

Participation reflects different regions, generations, languages and experiences, with deliberate attention to voices that receive limited visibility.

The design of the website favours warmth, dignity, clarity and openness — and works on mobile phones and slower connections, with readable typography, accessible navigation and transcripts for audio.

Roadmap

Establish · Engage · Expand

Establish

Create the website, editorial charter, core team and initial content: a founding editorial, substantial articles across the three areas, an introductory language series and a first dossier on AI and human dignity in Africa.

Engage

Build partnerships, invite contributors, and introduce a newsletter and moderated online conversations.

Expand

Grow the language programme, commission thematic dossiers, and develop educational and policy partnerships — including the Omnia Nova Africa School.

Partners

Building together

We welcome universities, language centres, cultural institutions, churches, peacebuilding organisations and African technology networks.

Funding may combine donations, grants, institutional partnerships and clearly disclosed sponsorship — always with editorial independence protected.
